Base Salary
$181k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, train, and maintain machine learning models for perception on autonomous aircraft.
- Develop deep learning and 3D computer vision solutions for sensor fusion, navigation, and detect-and-avoid.
- Build model-training pipelines and evaluation systems for reliability and quality.
- Optimize and tune real-time AI perception algorithms for autonomous aircraft.
- Contribute to data management, annotation, curation, modeling, simulation, and analysis software.
- Collaborate with the Superpilot team and cross-functional sensing, controls, and flight software engineers.
- Document technical designs, architectural trade-offs, and implementation roadmaps while supporting code reviews and mentorship.
- Monitor system health and performance, address issues, and provide user support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in machine learning.
- Experience developing software and systems for autonomous vehicles.
- Strong proficiency in Python and deep understanding of 3D computer vision and machine learning for video.
- Practical knowledge of state-of-the-art models for real-time perception.
- Ability to invent and rapidly prototype technical solutions in autonomy.
- Proven ability to document complex technical designs, architecture trade-offs, and implementation roadmaps.
- Experience architecting and writing clean, scalable, and maintainable software is preferred.
- Experience with aerospace autonomy, autonomous vehicle software, and multidisciplinary software development is preferred.
- Experience deploying ML models in production using MLOps principles and tools such as MLflow or Kubeflow is preferred.
- Experience processing aircraft sensor data such as GPS, inertial, ADS-B, air data, and radio data is preferred.
- Experience with ROS2 or related middleware and DDS systems is preferred.
- Competence in C++ is preferred.
- Strong communication, software best-practice, code-review, mentorship, and independent-work abilities are required.
