Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Android applications integrated with platform services and APIs.
- Build and evolve reusable SDKs, internal libraries, and shared UI and infrastructure patterns for multiple product teams.
- Lead or contribute to WebView architecture initiatives involving performance, security, debugging, and native-module integration.
- Improve mobile CI/CD through automated builds, testing, release workflows, and quality gates.
- Drive automated testing strategies, quality assurance, and release readiness.
- Improve observability through performance monitoring, crash analysis, service metrics, logging, and alerting.
- Optimize technology-stack cost, efficiency, engineering velocity, and developer experience.
- Lead cross-team technical initiatives and improve code quality, architecture, and platform consistency.
- Mentor engineers, provide technical feedback, and communicate complex trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software development experience building large-scale applications, with strong expertise in native Android or web engineering.
- 4+ years in a Tech Lead or equivalent role owning execution and technical direction end-to-end.
- Experience owning production systems across design, development, deployment, monitoring, and long-term evolution.
- Strong engineering leadership, including mentoring senior engineers and influencing across teams.
- Advanced proficiency in modern application-development frameworks, scalable architecture, modularization, and maintainability.
- Strong understanding of application performance, stability, backward compatibility, and security.
- Expert knowledge of testing methodologies and end-to-end test strategy, including UI or E2E automation.
- Practical experience improving engineering throughput with CI/CD, automated builds, test pipelines, and release workflows.
- Ability to use data and telemetry to guide improvements, with app or service observability experience advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving, research, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred experience includes mobile platform teams, reusable solutions used by multiple teams, WebView internals, native-app CI/CD, observability, high-traffic internet products, and cross-platform technologies.
