Responsibilities
- Evolve cloud services and APIs while leading decisions around system architecture, performance, and scalability.
- Maintain and extend user interfaces using React and modern frontend engineering practices.
- Read and understand iOS code and connect client, backend, and frontend flows, coordinating with the global team when iOS or Android changes are needed.
- Own delivery quality through unit testing, integration testing, self-testing, and release quality assurance.
- Collaborate with Global Engineering, local product managers, and marketing to take over existing system knowledge and deliver product improvements end to end.
- Help establish the China R&D team, development processes, and AI-native engineering practices.
- Use AI coding tools in daily development and help the team improve its development workflow.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software development experience with a record of independently owning complete features or modules.
- Ability to understand and take over unfamiliar codebases and independently connect iOS client, backend, and frontend layers into a complete product flow.
- Strong proficiency in Python or Golang; proficiency in both is preferred.
- Practical deployment and operations experience with AWS or Alibaba Cloud.
- Strong React skills and familiarity with modern frontend engineering, including state management, component design, and build tools.
- Ability to independently test work, including unit and integration testing, and take full responsibility for delivery quality.
- Hands-on proficiency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot.
- Strong ownership, ability to define and advance problems in ambiguous environments, and effective cross-team and cross-time-zone communication.
- Experience taking over or maintaining large existing systems, leading cross-team handoffs, mentoring or leading a small team, closely partnering with product teams, or working in an early-stage or startup environment is preferred.
- Exposure to iOS, Swift, or SwiftUI is preferred.
- Experience with distributed systems, microservices, containerization, Docker, or Kubernetes is preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD and logging, monitoring, or tracing practices is preferred.
