Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and scale Playwright regression automation for billing journeys, invoices, payment routing, and system interfaces.
  • Run and debug scheduled test suites using traces, video recordings, and artifacts to isolate backend root causes.
  • Review QA repository pull requests and maintain documentation and continuity of the automated test framework.
  • Perform targeted manual and visual mobile web audits across physical and virtual device profiles using cloud testing platforms.
  • Use AI-assisted tooling to author tests, generate synthetic edge-case data, and triage logs while applying deterministic verification to financial calculations.
  • Review designs and technical requirements, identify ambiguities, recommend architectural corrections, and create functional, integration, regression, smoke, and sanity test plans.
  • Use advanced SQL to analyze application and batch logs, validate schemas, and check database and ledger integrity.
  • Test tax documentation pipelines, transaction totals, rounding logic, VAT requirements, and changing tax jurisdictions.
  • Validate REST APIs, backend endpoints, payload contracts, JSON/XML responses, authorization protocols, webhooks, web services, and retry mechanisms.
  • Evaluate compatibility with vendor programs and third-party financial systems.
  • Monitor application health, APM dashboards, transaction metrics, and invoicing or balance-import batch jobs.
  • Document defects with reproducible steps, SQL scripts, API payloads and responses, network data, and session recordings.

Requirements

  • Hands-on professional experience creating, configuring, running, and scaling Playwright web automation scripts.
  • Strong relational database profiling skills with the ability to write complex SQL queries, joins, and aggregates for transactional and ledger validation.
  • Experience testing or verifying RESTful APIs, HTTP response codes, and validation payloads.
  • Proficiency in manual testing, requirements analysis, exploratory testing, web inspection, and analytical and numerical evaluation.
  • Ability to work autonomously, process feedback quickly, adapt to changing product needs, and balance speed with quality.
  • Experience integrating AI tools such as Cursor or Copilot into QA workflows while iterating and validating generated outputs.
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent practical hands-on experience in software quality assurance, computer programming, or systems engineering.
  • Preferred ISTQB/ISEB QA, Partner PXA, Java, Spring, or cloud infrastructure certifications.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or cloud-based device testing suites such as Sauce Labs.
  • Familiarity with transactional pipelines, POS systems, ledger logic, database tracking, financial data consistency, VAT, and regional tax rules.
  • Familiarity with Selenium, Jasmine, or Cucumber and the ability to adopt Playwright quickly.
  • Experience in greenfield environments or scaling early-stage financial software infrastructure is preferred.
