Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on computer vision work and architect technical solutions for complex project requirements.
- Lead the technical delivery of computer vision projects and guide multidisciplinary teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Contribute computer vision expertise to bids, win new business, and identify opportunities for visual intelligence solutions.
- Monitor state-of-the-art developments and share computer vision best practices across the business unit.
- Represent the organisation internally and externally as a computer vision subject matter expert.
- Define technical strategy and own computer vision capability development within the Defence domain.
- Mentor and develop team members and support continuous technical learning.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of state-of-the-art computer vision and AI approaches, including machine learning and classical computer vision techniques.
- Experience providing technical leadership, guiding teams, and architecting systems with minimal oversight.
- Proven experience deploying computer vision models into production and addressing deployment, performance, and latency challenges.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with technical colleagues and non-technical clients.
- Meaningful experience with Python, including object-oriented programming, and willingness to explore low-level components when necessary.
- Experience building capabilities through R&D accelerators and mentoring others.
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC) and willingness to work onsite with defence customers and travel throughout the UK.
