
Senior/Staff Engineer - NVMe ESSD Validation

Responsibilities
- Define and execute SSD firmware validation plans, test cases, and automation content.
- Develop and maintain automated tests for functional, system-level, performance, reliability, and customer qualification requirements.
- Validate SSD firmware against NVMe, PCIe, OCP Cloud SSD, and customer-specific specifications.
- Debug and resolve issues with firmware, hardware, systems, product engineering, and customer teams.
- Analyze test results, identify quality risks, document defects and findings, and communicate recommendations and project status.
- Support customer qualification activities and reproduce customer-reported issues.
- Integrate tests into automated and continuous validation environments and improve validation efficiency.
- Use AI-assisted tools for script development, test creation, log analysis, reporting, failure triage, and workflow automation.
- Apply responsible AI practices related to technical correctness, privacy, security, governance, and compliance.
Requirements
- 4–10 years of experience in embedded firmware, storage systems, SSD validation, or related engineering fields.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of SSD architecture, NVMe, PCIe, enterprise storage, and storage-system interactions involving CPU, memory, drivers, operating systems, and firmware.
- Strong Python programming and scripting skills plus experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks.
- Hands-on Linux and Windows debugging experience.
- Experience creating validation plans involving I/O workloads, NVMe protocols, endurance, reliability, and media management testing.
- Experience with storage validation tools such as Medusa, SanBlaze, OakGate, UNH, PCIe-CV, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience debugging NVMe/SAS protocol issues with LeCroy, JDSU, or similar protocol analyzers is highly desired.
- Experience with datacenter compute and storage solutions such as Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware vSphere, and VSAN is a plus.
- Understanding of generative AI, prompt engineering, practical AI applications, AI-generated output validation, and responsible AI practices.
- Preferred experience with hyperscale, enterprise, or cloud storage customers, AI-driven engineering automation, data analytics, CI/CD pipelines, and large-scale validation infrastructures.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, planning, organization, collaboration, and prioritization skills.
