Base Salary
$188k - $242k/yr
Responsibilities
- Harden the shared Temporal cluster for multi-tenant readiness through capacity modeling, namespace isolation, and admission control.
- Define SLOs, observability, and trustworthy alerting for Temporal-backed services, including per-tenant and per-namespace routing.
- Build golden paths, conventions, and documentation for teams building workflows on the shared platform.
- Enable multi-cluster availability and improve resilience to cluster or regional failures.
- Own platform capacity, cost efficiency, incident response, root-cause analysis, postmortems, and on-call operations.
- Partner with tenant teams on workflow design, idempotency, retries, and safe platform adoption.
- Lead technical migrations or infrastructure consolidations across multiple stakeholder teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on production experience operating self-hosted Temporal, including running, maintaining, and tuning the cluster itself.
- Experience operating distributed systems at scale, including retries, idempotency, partial failure, and dependent datastore and storage configuration.
- Operational depth in Temporal internals and cluster administration.
- Experience securing and troubleshooting service-to-service communication between clients, workers, and the cluster.
- Experience leading technical migrations or infrastructure consolidation across multiple stakeholder teams.
- Experience defining platform-level SLOs and alerting, including per-namespace or per-tenant observability and issue routing.
- Production experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Strong Golang proficiency plus at least one additional programming language.
- A specific additional language, particular cloud or Kubernetes flavor, and prior formal migration-lead experience are preferred but coachable.
