Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the architecture of Joko AI’s agentic system.
- Design and run evaluation and monitoring frameworks to measure performance and prevent regressions.
- Expand AI capabilities through web search, vector search, catalog lookups, and other integrations.
- Ingest, standardize, enrich, and manage a product catalog containing hundreds of millions of entries.
- Use transaction and browsing data to improve intent understanding and personalization.
- Prototype and ship new AI features, iterate with users, and incorporate feedback.
- Track new models, agentic frameworks, and research and translate them into product improvements.
- Fine-tune and optimize models for quality, latency, and cost.
- Improve the runtime and infrastructure to support hundreds of thousands of daily users with high availability and low latency.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering from early concepts through full production rollout.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including building and shipping production systems.
- Experience operating at a senior or staff level and owning ambitious projects from design through production.
- Ideally, experience building production AI systems used by real users.
- Deep familiarity with agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalents.
- Familiarity with LLM observability tools such as LangFuse or equivalents, LLM APIs, and AI evaluation tooling.
- An AI/ML background or degree is a strong plus but not required.
- Comfort working across AI logic, infrastructure, and frontend prototyping.
- Ability to solve challenges involving latency, cost, hallucinations, and long-term memory.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Strong ownership, communication, experimentation, learning, and problem-solving skills.
