Base Salary
$235k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Guide complex initiatives from requirements gathering and system design through deployment while evaluating technologies and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Build scalable data infrastructure and developer tooling, including data cataloging, versioning, and lineage for research and production workflows.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering and research staff and support teammates’ growth.
- Help shape the team’s technical roadmap and contribute to engineering culture and productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Proven software design and implementation experience emphasizing correctness, robustness, efficiency, and scale.
- Experience working with large codebases and building modular, extensible, maintainable software.
- Expertise in a modern programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
- Hands-on experience developing in a Linux/UNIX environment.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable services and APIs, highly available systems, and/or large-scale data infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
- Preferred: familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Iceberg, BigQuery, Snowflake, DynamoDB, Trino/Athena, Airflow, or Slurm.
- Preferred: experience building data platforms with developer-focused APIs, access patterns, or infrastructure-abstraction tooling.
