Responsibilities

  • Define and support firmware architecture for RISC-V and ARM platforms.
  • Develop, debug, bring up, and maintain embedded firmware for NFC products.
  • Derive firmware requirements from system, hardware, PCRM, and customer specifications.
  • Design low-level firmware subsystems and software components meeting functional, performance, memory, timing, and power requirements.
  • Own firmware modules or platform software subsystems from design through integration and bring-up.
  • Review designs and code, provide technical guidance, and maintain firmware quality.
  • Write firmware design specifications, interface specifications, and low-level platform software documentation.
  • Define validation and bring-up environments for pre-silicon, emulation, FPGA, and post-silicon phases.
  • Contribute to unit, integration, system, and silicon bring-up test strategies.
  • Support tapeout readiness by reviewing firmware dependencies, register and interface assumptions, boot flows, and hardware-software integration risks.
  • Collaborate with hardware, systems, validation, architecture, and component engineering teams to resolve low-level integration issues.
  • Define firmware design guidelines, development flows, debugging approaches, and bring-up checklists.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of embedded firmware development experience, preferably in SoC, mobile, secure embedded, or RTOS-based systems.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication or Power Electronics.
  • Embedded software development experience on 8-, 16-, or 32-bit platforms, preferably using RISC-V and ARM architectures.
  • Excellent C programming skills and hands-on assembly experience.
  • Experience with boot flows, boot loaders, interrupt handling, memory maps, clocks, power states, SPI, I2C, UART drivers, RF interfaces, and embedded RTOS concepts.
  • Hands-on knowledge and usage of RTOS technologies.
  • Knowledge of SoC hardware IP datasheets, register-level programming, hardware-software interfaces, and low-level driver development.
  • Experience with PCRM, platform configuration, reset/clock/power management, and low-level initialization flows.
  • Experience supporting tapeout and bring-up, including RTL-based pre-silicon validation, FPGA and emulation usage, post-silicon debugging, and hardware-team issue triage.
  • Exposure to LPCXpresso, Keil, and Eclipse IDEs.
  • Experience using TRAC32, J-LINK, or LPC-LINK debuggers.
  • Exposure to change-management, configuration-management, and bug-tracking tools.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-based efficiency tools.
  • C++, C#, Perl, or Python exposure is advantageous.
  • Understanding of NFC technology and contactless proximity standards such as ISO14443, ISO15693, ISO18092, and ISO7816 is preferred.
  • Knowledge of embedded firmware software development life cycle, tapeout milestones, silicon bring-up planning, debug instrumentation, and hardware-software readiness criteria is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills; willingness to travel internationally as needed.

Benefits

  • The role is based in Bangalore, India.
  • International travel may be required on an as-needed basis.
