Responsibilities
- Transform ML research code, models, and ideas into robust, scalable, low-latency production microservices.
- Architect end-to-end ingestion, integration, ETL, database, and low-latency service solutions.
- Build and maintain automated ML workflows for training, benchmarking, testing, performance gating, and deployment.
- Optimize API response times, database connectivity, concurrency, fault tolerance, and system tradeoffs at scale.
- Design and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes connecting Snowflake to training environments.
- Use Kubeflow, MLflow, and KServe to manage model lifecycles and performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with ML Scientists and guide software engineering best practices.
- Monitor and optimize production models for performance, cost efficiency, availability, and observability.
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend software engineering experience building and maintaining large-scale, high-throughput production systems.
- Strong coding skills, clean and maintainable code practices, object-oriented programming familiarity, package design, and microservices experience.
- Professional experience with Python, or deep Java/C# experience combined with some Python experience and willingness to transition fully.
- Strong database design and SQL skills, including relational or columnar databases, ORMs, and efficient query design.
- Experience designing robust APIs and handling concurrency, ETL tradeoffs, and fault-tolerant data flows.
- Experience productionizing machine learning models or working closely with data science teams is advantageous.
- Familiarity with data warehouses, pipeline orchestration, containerized environments, and model serving frameworks is advantageous.
