Responsibilities
- Transform ML research code, models, and ideas into robust, scalable, low-latency production microservices.
- Architect end-to-end solutions covering ingestion, integration, ETL, database design, and responsive services.
- Build and maintain automated workflows for model training, benchmarking, testing, performance gating, and production deployment.
- Design and optimize backend systems, APIs, database connectivity, concurrency, and fault-tolerant data flows at scale.
- Design data pipelines and ETL processes connecting Snowflake to model training environments.
- Use Kubeflow, MLflow, and KServe to manage model lifecycles and performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with ML Scientists and guide software engineering practices.
- Monitor and optimize production models for performance, cost efficiency, availability, and observability.
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend software engineering experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale, high-throughput production systems.
- Strong coding skills, clean and maintainable code practices, object-oriented programming familiarity, package design, and microservices experience.
- Python experience is required for the work; strong Java or C# engineers with some Python experience are encouraged to transition.
- Strong database design and SQL skills, including relational or columnar databases, ORMs, and efficient query design.
- Experience building robust, performant systems involving concurrency, ETL tradeoffs, and fault-tolerant best-effort data flows.
- Productionizing machine learning models or working closely with data science teams is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, pipeline orchestration, Docker, Kubernetes, and KServe is advantageous.
