Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of modular, maintainable, and high-performance Android Automotive OS infotainment applications.
- Architect and integrate media, navigation, user profile, and distributed playback solutions across automotive platforms.
- Develop application modules that communicate with VHAL and other HALs using AIDL and HIDL.
- Integrate applications with Android system services and vendor-specific frameworks.
- Debug and optimize issues across application, framework, and HAL layers.
- Collaborate with platform, hardware, and QA teams on integration and validation.
- Mentor junior developers and enforce architecture, code quality, and testing best practices.
- Prepare and present architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation details to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum 7.5 years of professional experience is required; the description also specifies 10 years of Android application development and at least 10 years in infotainment and telematics.
- Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, Computers, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related stream is required; a master's degree in engineering is also mentioned as acceptable.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++14/17 is required.
- Deep knowledge of Android SDK, Android NDK, Jetpack libraries, and MVVM architecture is required.
- Experience with Android Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers is required.
- Hands-on experience with AIDL, HIDL, VHAL, HAL-to-application communication, AAOS car services, and infotainment integration is required.
- Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and CAN at the application level is required.
- Experience with media, phone, navigation, and cloud communication applications is preferred or required by the technical description.
- Experience with partitioning, cross-partition communication, unit testing, instrumentation testing, and mocking frameworks is required.
- Hands-on experience with Git, adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace is required.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety, ASPICE, ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity, TARA, and secure communication is required or expected.
