Base Salary
$145k - $217k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with scientists, product teams, and technical partners to identify high-value problems and translate them into engineering solutions.
- Design, build, deploy, and improve software applications, agentic solutions, MCP servers, tools, and services for drug discovery workflows.
- Rapidly prototype solutions, validate them with users, and evolve successful concepts into scalable production systems.
- Bridge chemistry, cheminformatics, data, and engineering across scientific and technical workflows.
- Collaborate with product, design, data science, and scientific teams on applications and services.
- Plan, implement, and support platform and infrastructure development to improve scalability, reliability, performance, and usability.
- Apply code reviews, automated testing, logging, monitoring, documentation, and maintainability practices.
- Promote software engineering practices across multidisciplinary teams and mentor engineering community members.
- Monitor technology trends, experiment with new approaches, and participate in technology communities.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in chemistry or a relevant field, or demonstrable equivalent experience; PhD preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry or academia.
- Advanced Python object-oriented design and development experience for production-quality applications and services.
- Experience designing, building, and deploying scalable software systems, APIs, and production services.
- Ability to translate complex scientific or business needs into practical software solutions and work directly with users or domain experts.
- Experience integrating systems, services, and data pipelines across complex technical environments.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, data analysis, SQL performance tuning, ETL or data integration pipelines, and end-to-end data issue resolution.
- Experience consuming or exposing web APIs and deploying scalable applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Production experience delivering CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar tools.
- Experience creating and evaluating cloud engineering architectures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to own delivery from problem definition through deployment and iteration.
- Preferred experience includes AWS, DevOps and monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus, AI/ML-enabled production applications, agentic systems, MCP servers or tools, and product ownership or technical leadership.

- Annual base pay ranges from $144,648.80 to $216,973.20 USD.
