Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain payout profile and payout scheduling components within the payments processing platform.
  • Modernize legacy systems by transitioning them to an event-driven microservices architecture.
  • Design and build scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Contribute across the software development lifecycle, including technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Design APIs, data flows, and integration patterns for the Payments Platform.
  • Investigate operational issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent fixes.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, technical discussions, and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, Product, and adjacent Payments teams.
  • Improve engineering practices, operational readiness, and system maintainability.

Requirements

  • Strong professional experience across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience building backend services with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
  • Understanding of event-driven systems, service integration, and reliable data flows.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to investigating complex issues.
  • Experience writing production-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Ownership of systems built and operated, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience building a system or service from scratch is a plus.
  • Experience with payments, payouts, or financial technology products is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS is a plus.
  • Experience with observability, incident management, production support, legacy-system modernization, payout flows, settlement, reconciliation, or transaction processing is a plus.
