Responsibilities
- Discover operational workflows and identify meaningful opportunities for AI by working directly with practitioners.
- Decompose ambiguous requests into concrete, measurable steps and determine where AI is appropriate.
- Build, ship, operate, and hand off applied AI pilots and production capabilities.
- Train users and develop local champions so deployed capabilities remain sustainable without adding headcount.
- Convert delivered projects into reusable patterns that improve the shared AI platform.
- Serve as the primary field source of truth for the proprietary governed AI platform.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of engineering or operational delivery experience, including 3+ years shipping applied AI/ML and recent hands-on work with modern large-language-model tools.
- Demonstrated experience shipping and operating production capabilities rather than only research or demonstrations.
- Ability to describe at least two shipped systems, including failures, lessons learned, and improvements; at least one must have been built without an existing team, specification, or predecessor system and remained in use afterward.
- Ability to translate ambiguous real-world work into scoped, measurable pieces and proactively identify risks.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training; engineering, computer science, data science, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Proficient technical expertise and strong interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, communication, and writing skills.
- Forward-deployed or embedded delivery experience, experience training or deputizing others, and defense, manufacturing, or regulated-industry experience are preferred.
- Active or prior security clearance is preferred; U.S. citizenship and an active DOD security clearance or ability to obtain one within a reasonable time are required.
