Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and deliver secure, scalable software solutions.
- Build web applications using service-oriented and microservices architectures with Java and Python frameworks.
- Integrate applications with AWS compute, storage, database, and security services.
- Write, review, debug, and maintain high-quality production code.
- Lead adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering tools for coding, code review, testing, troubleshooting, and operational improvement.
- Establish validation standards for AI-generated outputs, including secure coding, peer review, automated testing, correctness, performance, and security.
- Identify and automate recurring issue remediation to improve software and system stability.
- Lead architectural evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced programming ability in Java or Python.
- Experience building microservices with Java/Spring Boot and Python/FastAPI/Flask.
- Experience with AWS services including S3, DynamoDB, ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, RDS, and ALB/NLB.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot or Claude Code and other pair-programming agents.
- Experience building high-volume, low-latency, high-throughput transactional systems.
- Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development practices and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience coaching engineers on safe and compliant AI-assisted development practices.
- Understanding of CI/CD, application resiliency, security, AWS, and Terraform.
- Preferred: strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills; financial services technology knowledge; and practical cloud-native experience.
