Base Salary
$85k - $100k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement computational design tools for DLR Group’s integrated design practice.
- Build internal applications and client-facing digital solutions for design, review, and project workflows.
- Develop interactive experiences, gaming objects, and user interfaces within Unreal Engine.
- Create prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions for research and development initiatives.
- Translate designer and stakeholder feedback into scalable software solutions.
- Develop digital pipelines connecting primary design applications and emerging technologies.
- Write, document, test, and maintain code in a collaborative development environment.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to shared repositories, standards, and development practices.
- Explore emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for new tools and workflows.
- Partner with Design Technology leadership and multidisciplinary teams to advance digital design strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, computer science, computational design, or a related field.
- Experience writing, documenting, and maintaining code in a collaborative development environment.
- Experience with GitHub or similar version-control platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to translate design or business needs into functional software solutions.
- Ability to collaborate across technical and design teams and manage priorities to meet deadlines.
- Preferred: experience developing applications or digital tools for architecture, engineering, construction, or design workflows.
- Preferred: knowledge of C++ and Unreal Engine Blueprints.
- Preferred: experience with Unreal Engine interactive tools, user interfaces, or gaming environments.
- Preferred: familiarity with virtual, augmented, or extended reality and immersive technologies.
- Preferred: understanding of game development pipelines and workflows.
- Preferred: experience with graphics programming, shaders, real-time rendering, AEC 3D modeling, or tools across multiple devices or platforms.
