Responsibilities
- Apply software engineering principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Design, develop, and enhance user interfaces, applications, and automation tools.
- Create technical specifications and build solutions based on approved designs and requirements.
- Test, troubleshoot, debug, integrate, and maintain code.
- Support reporting, member enrollment, claims processing, and business configuration activities.
- Work across two to three technology platforms or application stacks.
- Manage two to three moderately complex projects simultaneously.
- Collaborate with customers and teammates to clarify requirements and design solutions.
- Participate in Agile development processes and ceremonies.
- Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to less experienced team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT.
- At least five years of prior relevant experience, including four to five years in a computer-related support role.
- Strong knowledge of UNIX and/or Windows operating systems and Internet technologies.
- Proficiency with VBA, PowerShell, version control systems, and Agile project and issue tracking tools.
- Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL Server and required experience with SQL development.
- Experience with Perl, Bourne, and C++ scripting.
- Knowledge of WebSphere at the administrator or installation level.
- Intermediate knowledge of user interface design, application development, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software development methodologies.
- Knowledge of FileNet installation on UNIX and Windows.
- Experience with SVN/Git and JIRA preferred.
- Familiarity with APIs, web services, SOAP, REST, software debugging, and integration methods preferred.
- Analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and project management skills.
