Responsibilities

  • Participate in on-call rotations, detect and triage reliability issues, and act as Incident Commander during major incidents.
  • Coordinate war rooms and cross-functional incident response while providing clear status updates to stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and alerts and work with development teams to instrument application code.
  • Develop automation that eliminates repetitive reliability and infrastructure tasks.
  • Implement and track Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives defined by engineering leadership.
  • Investigate and resolve escalated customer complaints involving performance, reliability, or complex system behavior.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience supporting enterprise applications as an SRE or similar professional.
  • Proficiency writing code in Java, Go, or Python.
  • Understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and software design patterns.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes experience and experience managing applications on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Ability to troubleshoot common container issues.
  • Experience setting up Grafana dashboards and using Datadog, New Relic, or Signoz.
  • Understanding of metrics, logs, and traces.
  • Proficiency in SQL, including complex queries for debugging data issues, with basic database performance knowledge.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL is relevant to the stated SQL requirements.
