Base Salary
$180k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop flight software for satellite flight computers and Earth-station hubs.
- Develop firmware for satellite and Earth-station control boards.
- Contribute to software architecture, high-level design, requirements generation, implementation, and incremental project delivery.
- Develop C++ software interfacing with flight computers and custom vehicle hardware.
- Improve reliability through continuous integration, automated testing, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with payload, communications ground control, and telemetry teams.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Support both commercial and U.S. Government programs.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of experience developing product software in modern C++ or C.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies and design patterns.
- Experience with communications protocols including TCP/IP, I2C, and SPI.
- Experience building high-availability or high-reliability systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for space technology.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee or other protected-individual status as required for compliance with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.
- Preferred experience with Python; embedded Linux/POSIX systems; VxWorks, Linux, FreeRTOS, or QNX; production software development; safety-critical development; and board bring-up, debugging, or hardware/software integration.
