Responsibilities

  • Create complex, scalable coding frameworks and durable reusable software frameworks.
  • Develop, review, debug, and maintain secure, high-quality Java production code.
  • Build automation and self-service tools for Apache Cassandra across private and public clouds.
  • Deliver a consumer-driven Cassandra platform for critical systems and improve customer experience.
  • Architect and govern agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows, including AI-assisted code review, test generation, release readiness checks, incident triage, and root-cause acceleration.
  • Define guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, auditability, traceability, sensitive-data handling, and reuse of AI-enabled engineering practices.
  • Advise cross-functional teams and influence senior business, product, and technology stakeholders.
  • Contribute to technical methods and specialized software engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
  • Experience with cloud, virtualization, APIs, and modern software languages, including software development in Java.
  • Advanced experience in at least two relevant areas such as web application development, databases, Unix/Linux, distributed and parallel systems, information retrieval, networking, large-scale software development, or security software development.
  • Experience designing and leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled development practices across teams.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, engineering controls, security, resiliency, data sensitivity, risk-based governance, and agile and lean philosophies.
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as SaltStack and Ansible, including Linux configuration and operations.
  • Knowledge of Database Reliability Engineering concepts and ability to read and understand source code.
  • Preferred: UI/UX development experience, open-source contributions, and expertise designing, implementing, and optimizing DynamoDB solutions, including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
