Responsibilities
- Design and create engineering specifications for software applications and programs.
- Write maintainable code that follows coding standards and participate in code reviews.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, highly available, consumer-facing applications across the full software development lifecycle.
- Evaluate technical solutions, define system architectures, and assess trade-offs for short- and long-term capabilities.
- Translate design mockups, prototypes, and user stories into working applications.
- Build asynchronous and distributed systems using Celery and GCP Pub/Sub.
- Participate in agile and Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, story creation, estimation, task management, and delivery tracking.
- Deploy and support applications across on-premise, OpenShift, and GCP environments using GitLab CI/CD.
- Monitor production schedules, communicate blockers, and report technical issues and progress.
- Lead design discussions, optimize performance, apply security best practices, and ensure code quality.
- Mentor associate, intermediate, junior, and other software engineers as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
- At least 5 years of experience designing algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and scalable highly available systems is required.
- At least 5 years of experience with one or more modern or general-purpose programming languages, including Java, Python, JavaScript, ACE, IIB/ITX, Informatica, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, or Go.
- At least 5 years of experience with web services technologies such as REST, HTTPS, and JSON.
- Experience with at least two of React, Angular v4+, NodeJS, NoSQL databases, HTML5, CSS, Google Cloud Platform, or Amazon Web Services.
- At least 5 years of experience defining system architectures and evaluating technical feasibility trade-offs.
- Demonstrated full-stack development experience with React, Python, PostgreSQL or BigQuery, GraphQL, REST APIs, and database views.
- Hands-on experience with asynchronous processing and messaging using Celery and GCP Pub/Sub.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD and deployments across on-premise, OpenShift, and GCP cloud environments.
- Understanding of role-based security and access-control implementation, software engineering practices, source control, build processes, unit testing, and operations.
- Experience leading design discussions, mentoring engineers, and ensuring code quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, 7 years working with technology systems or developing healthcare applications, 1 year of machine learning experience, and preferred GCP certification.
- Experience with agile Scrum methodology, large-scale consumer-facing applications, user experience, and usability improvement is preferred.
