Sr. Robotics Engineer, Perception

Responsibilities
- Develop perception and computer-vision systems to detect rigid objects, estimate 6-DoF poses, and determine 3D dimensions under occlusion and difficult lighting.
- Integrate and synchronize cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, radar, and ultrasonic sensors.
- Perform intrinsic and extrinsic calibration, including hand-eye calibration and LiDAR-camera alignment.
- Implement lightweight localization and environment-awareness methods such as point-cloud registration, marker-based alignment, and feature-map alignment.
- Present complex technical concepts clearly to cross-functional teams and use data-driven problem solving.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in robotics perception and sensor fusion, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in modern C++, Python, ROS 1, and ROS 2.
- Hands-on experience with industrial 3D cameras, LiDARs, IMUs, radar sensors, and synchronized data acquisition.
- Deep understanding of multi-sensor calibration, including hand-eye calibration and LiDAR-camera extrinsics.
- Strong experience with deep-learning toolchains such as YOLO and Mask R-CNN and classical vision methods including feature matching, PnP, and RANSAC.
- Proficiency with OpenCV, PCL, and Open3D for real-time image and point-cloud processing.
- Strong problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and communication skills.
- Preferred experience with SLAM-lite, marker-based mapping, AprilTags, ArUco, AWS RoboMaker, or Azure IoT.
