Base Salary
$79k - $133k/yr
Responsibilities
- Use Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript to evaluate, prototype, and implement emerging software capabilities.
- Design and develop proof-of-concept applications, services, APIs, integrations, and data-driven workflows.
- Research and prototype AI, computer vision, spatial intelligence, real-time systems, sensor integration, and automation approaches.
- Investigate imagery and video processing, indoor and built-environment intelligence, digital twins, operational monitoring, and AI-assisted workflows.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and product teams on technical viability, tradeoffs, and production implementation paths.
- Evolve viable prototypes into scalable, maintainable, and testable production software.
- Apply industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies, testing practices, and deployment models in an Agile Scrum environment.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional, internship, academic, or project experience supporting similar software development responsibilities.
- Strong foundation in software engineering principles, algorithms, and data structures.
- Experience developing software with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript and building web services, APIs, integrations, or data-driven applications.
- Understanding of databases, data modeling, and distributed systems concepts.
- Ability to analyze technical approaches, identify improvements, learn technologies quickly, and evaluate tradeoffs.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, Geographic Information Systems, or a STEM-related field.
- Preferred experience includes Agile software development, modern web frameworks, REST or GraphQL APIs, SQL and databases, AI or computer vision, imagery and video, sensors, IoT, telemetry, streaming or real-time systems, cloud-native development, Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps, ArcGIS, spatial data, mapping, source control, and issue management systems.
- A master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, Geographic Information Systems, or a STEM-related field is preferred.
