Base Salary

$135k - $185k/yr

Responsibilities

Write and ship clear, simple code that improves educators’ workflows and student outcomes.
Collaborate with product owners, designers, and senior engineers to build clean and simple features.
Use and champion AI-assisted development practices to improve development velocity and code quality.
Build and maintain robust services that operate at scale and meet high security standards.
Contribute to technical direction, team culture, pull request reviews, and future system architecture.
Help evolve the company’s monolithic systems while working with distributed systems.
Deploy, monitor, and operate services on AWS infrastructure.
Build and consume RESTful APIs.

Professional experience with backend and frontend services using Ruby, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or PHP.
Strong experience building application services with MySQL or PostgreSQL and understanding relational databases beyond standard ORM usage.
Experience with distributed systems and evolving monolithic architectures.
Experience deploying, monitoring, and operating services on AWS, including Aurora, RDS, and SQS.
Proficiency building and consuming RESTful APIs.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience using LLMs and AI agents to improve software development workflows is expected.
