Base Salary
$100k - $125k/yr
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve custom and commercial software supporting NOAA satellite ground systems.
- Design and implement bug fixes, feature enhancements, automation, and software or process changes.
- Troubleshoot and debug real-time operational anomalies by coordinating tests with system and network administrators.
- Assess, integrate, regression-test, and deploy cybersecurity vulnerability remediations.
- Understand system architecture, server and workstation functions, software functionality, and operational use cases.
- Deploy software in coordination with satellite operations and train users on software functionality when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience supporting bug fixes, feature enhancements, and cybersecurity remediation integration.
- Experience with system development and maintenance across the full software development life cycle.
- Extensive coding experience with Python, Java, C, and C++.
- Experience using Git repository management for continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Experience with Linux and Windows environments; Red Hat experience is desired.
- Experience implementing operating-system-level operations through scripting and automation; secure file transfer experience is desired.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and able to pass a background investigation for a government facility security badge.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
