Responsibilities
- Design and implement features and performance improvements for scalable data pipelines.
- Develop, maintain, and test code for enterprise applications.
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure quality standards.
- Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality products.
- Address performance and scalability challenges in existing systems.
- Participate in on-call rotation and assist in the hiring process.
- Mentor junior developers to foster their growth.
- Ensure Fivetran remains a reliable and secure component of customer data infrastructure.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on complex problem-solving.
- Strong foundation in software engineering principles and best practices.
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud security concepts.
- Ability to write well-structured and performant code.
- Experience in leading software and infrastructure design projects.
- Proficient in identifying design flaws and proposing improvements.
- Experience in code reviews, design, troubleshooting, and testing.
- Proficient in an object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, or C#.
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with continuous integration tools like Buildkite.
- Knowledge of observability tools like New Relic or Grafana is a plus.
- Understanding of data engineering concepts is a plus.
