Base Salary
$198k - $264k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define Vuori’s enterprise AI architecture, reference architectures, engineering standards, and integration patterns.
- Lead technical evaluations of AI platforms, foundation models, cloud services, and tooling, including build-versus-buy-versus-partner recommendations.
- Develop and operationalize AI governance covering model risk, data privacy, bias detection, audit trails, regulatory compliance, security guardrails, testing, and evaluation.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Security, Data, engineering, product, and business leaders to align AI architecture and governance with organizational priorities.
- Implement monitoring, incident response, continuous improvement, and reporting processes for AI systems in production.
- Provide architectural guidance through design reviews, pairing, documentation, reusable patterns, and mentoring without direct people-management responsibility.
- Track platform reliability, governance adherence, security posture, and business impact while incorporating emerging AI technologies and industry practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or technology architecture, including significant ownership of enterprise AI or data-platform architecture at scale.
- Demonstrated experience designing and governing production AI systems, including LLMs, agentic systems, ML pipelines, and model-serving infrastructure.
- Deep expertise in enterprise AI governance, risk management, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience defining technical standards, making architecture decisions, and driving adoption across large cross-functional engineering organizations through influence rather than direct authority.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, plus AI infrastructure patterns such as RAG, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks.
- Experience building and deploying with frontier AI lab models, platforms, or frameworks such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or Meta.
- Exceptional communication, executive presence, alignment-building, constructive challenge, and cross-functional influence skills.
- Preferred experience with enterprise AI governance platforms, model risk management frameworks, the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, MLOps, model lifecycle management, AI observability, responsible AI tooling, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Copilot Studio, or Google Gemini Enterprise.
- Retail, direct-to-consumer, e-commerce, or similar consumer operating experience and active engagement with the AI and technology community are preferred.
