Responsibilities
- Embed with client engineering teams and build production integrations in their codebases against OpenLoop’s Partner API.
- Own customer integrations through go-live and the weeks after launch, documenting platform gaps and time-boxed workarounds when necessary.
- Build SDKs, reference implementations, CLIs, machine-readable documentation, and agentic workflows for client and internal use.
- Use and extend deployment agents, including readiness gates, conformance checks, seeding checkers, documentation-freshness checks, gap filing, and client communication drafts.
- Contribute reusable recipes, checks, client manifests, and evidence to the shared platform roadmap and cookbook.
- Turn vague, over-promised, or contradictory client requests into phased, defensible scopes with explicit exclusions.
- Protect live-client compatibility by making changes additive or explicitly superseding with compatibility windows.
- Communicate technical constraints and delivery risks clearly to client engineering teams and internal go-to-market teams.
- Review integration designs, share deployment learnings, and help establish the practices for a new team.
Requirements
- 5 to 15+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience delivering directly for external customers or partners in their environments.
- End-to-end ownership of complex, customer-facing technical deliveries, including post-launch issue handling.
- Strong integration engineering experience with API design and consumption, authentication, webhooks, polling, idempotency, rate limits, pagination, schema drift, data, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience building with AI agents and verifying, evaluating, and monitoring their output before and after customer launch.
- Experience handling sensitive data with a security-first mindset and incorporating compliance constraints into system design.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences, including delivering early negative or limiting decisions to customers.
- Demonstrated judgment in scoping, sequencing, descoping, or declining work, plus evidence of leverage through SDKs, tooling, checks, reference implementations, or practices.
- Preferred experience in healthcare or another regulated domain, shipping LLM-based or agentic systems to production, building developer platforms, or working with EHR, scheduling, pharmacy, payments, or FHIR integrations.
- Preferred experience collaborating with sales or solutions teams in pre-sales technical conversations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Benefits
- Remote within the United States, with core collaboration hours of CST 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and occasional flexibility for client-facing work.
- Periodic travel to clients and team working sessions.
- Medical, dental, and vision plans.
- Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts.
- Flexible paid time off.
- 401(k) with company match.
