Base Salary
$106k - $145k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications for space systems and technologies.
- Write clean, maintainable code that follows software development best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and deliver software solutions.
- Use Git or similar version control systems to manage code changes.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure software quality and adherence to development standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues in a timely manner.
- Document software designs, configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Stay current with software development and space technology trends while working independently and collaboratively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Typically 2+ years of related experience.
- Strong understanding of at least one programming language and general knowledge of other programming languages.
- Strong understanding of software development principles and the ability to design, code, test, and debug complex software applications.
- Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required because the position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance.
- Preferred experience with requirements management and systems modeling tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, or MATLAB.
- Preferred knowledge of mechanical design principles, requirements management, and Model Based Systems Engineering.
- Preferred experience or certification in INCOSE standards.
- Preferred experience developing software interface control documents and managing and decomposing requirements specifications.
- Preferred background in the aerospace and defense industry, including baseline definition, trade studies, and Technical Performance Measurement tracking.
