Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and manage highly available AWS and Azure environments using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and CDK.
- Lead production Kubernetes workloads in EKS and AKS, including upgrades, networking, autoscaling, and troubleshooting.
- Build, configure, tune, and troubleshoot Linux systems and core services such as NGINX, MariaDB, and Redis.
- Operate and scale MariaDB/Galera clusters, Redis, Memcached, and Elasticsearch.
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps.
- Automate operational processes with Python and Bash scripting.
- Improve observability across metrics, logs, and traces while hardening infrastructure security.
- Participate in incident response, 24/7 on-call support, and load-testing efforts.
- Document systems and bridge infrastructure and application teams supporting high-scale WordPress and headless environments.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience in platform engineering or DevOps at scale or in multi-tenant environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Azure; multi-cloud experience is preferred.
- Deep Linux systems administration, tuning, troubleshooting, and hardening experience.
- Experience taking Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or CDK projects from greenfield development through long-term management.
- Production experience operating EKS or AKS, including upgrades, networking, troubleshooting, and Kubernetes PodWeaver.
- Experience managing NGINX, MariaDB/Galera, Redis, Memcached, and Elasticsearch in production.
- Advanced Python and/or Bash scripting experience.
- Experience building and tuning CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of observability tooling and security best practices.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills, client collaboration experience, and availability for a 24/7 support rotation.
- Experience with GCP and Oracle Cloud is a plus.
