Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end search solutions, including natural-language query understanding and machine learning model development and deployment.
- Explore and integrate machine learning techniques, algorithms, and architectures to improve search relevance and user experience.
- Own technical goals and roadmaps for critical Google Workspace Search areas in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Mentor and guide engineers while fostering technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Establish and refine evaluation frameworks and metrics to measure progress against key performance indicators.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of software development experience.
- At least 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
- At least 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Preferred: master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: 3 years in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Preferred: 3 years working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
