Base Salary
$175k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain highly scalable backend services powering Waymo’s Marketplace and booking experiences.
- Develop reliable, low-latency, fault-tolerant infrastructure enabling users to hail and control autonomous vehicles.
- Collaborate with iOS and Android engineers, product managers, UX designers and researchers, and data scientists to bring ride-hailing features to market.
- Architect APIs and distributed systems serving internal and external partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of experience programming in backend coding languages.
- Experience building backend distributed systems.
- Preferred qualifications include production C++ experience, a master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, and experience developing low-latency, large-scale, user-facing distributed systems.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with ride-hailing or marketplace consumer platforms and experience at another ride-hailing or marketplace company.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and interest in partnering with mobile and frontend teams are preferred.
