Responsibilities

  • Drive architectural decisions, technical design reviews, standards, and technical debt reduction for the cash forecasting platform.
  • Mentor engineers and establish coding, review, testing, observability, incident response, and production excellence practices.
  • Partner with Product and Customer Success teams and distributed engineering teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
  • Build ERP and banking integrations with systems such as SAP, Oracle, and Workday.
  • Develop machine learning forecasting, variance analysis, anomaly detection, and pattern recognition capabilities.
  • Design worksheet engines, distributed systems, caching and aggregation strategies, dashboards, notifications, and scalable data-processing systems.
  • Improve development workflows, testing infrastructure, deployment processes, and developer productivity.
  • Own critical systems through design, production support, reliability improvement, and incident resolution.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years working on complex, business-critical production systems.
  • Experience with significant-scale products, cross-functional projects, multi-quarter delivery, and coordination across teams.
  • Experience owning and evolving production systems, participating in on-call rotations, handling critical incidents, and making lasting architectural decisions.
  • Experience leading technical designs implemented by teams of 3+ engineers and mentoring at least 2 engineers.
  • Proficiency with at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker; Kubernetes; infrastructure as code; CI/CD pipeline design; and observability practices.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, message queues, multi-tenancy, data isolation, RBAC, authorization, audit logging, API versioning, backward compatibility, feature flags, and progressive rollouts.
  • Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails and RDBMS systems, ideally PostgreSQL, including query optimization, indexing, and data modeling.
  • Experience building large-scale multi-tenant applications and RESTful APIs, with knowledge of GraphQL, gRPC, and webhooks.
  • Deep knowledge of React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and related technologies.
  • Preferred: financial concepts, banking systems, payment rails, MT940, BAI2, SWIFT, multi-currency systems, exchange rates, financial compliance, data privacy, and third-party financial integrations.
