Responsibilities
- Evolve the Android platform to provide scalable, observable, performant, and reliable mobile systems.
- Lead the design and delivery of complex Android features and platform improvements.
- Drive architectural decisions and participate in design reviews for migrations, modularization, and performance optimization.
- Apply and advocate for modern Android practices including clean architecture, domain modeling, and maintainable code organization.
- Own crash monitoring, performance tracking, logging, issue remediation, and other operational excellence activities.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and hands-on collaboration.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience building and shipping native Android applications.
- Expertise in Kotlin and modern Android development.
- Experience building user interfaces with Jetpack Compose and Material3.
- Strong experience with networking and data layers using OkHttp and Moshi.
- Strong experience with domain modeling, system design, and scalable mobile architecture.
- Comfort working with distributed systems and collaborating with backend teams.
- Experience with Android architecture patterns such as MVI, MVVM, modularization, and dependency injection.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, object-oriented design, algorithms, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
- Ability to communicate clearly and influence technical direction across teams.
- Experience with ARCore, OpenCV, Filament, or performance optimization for high-volume consumer-facing mobile applications is preferred.
- Must not be listed on the Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
