Responsibilities

  • Evolve the Android platform to provide scalable, observable, performant, and reliable mobile systems.
  • Lead the design and delivery of complex Android features and platform improvements.
  • Drive architectural decisions and participate in design reviews for migrations, modularization, and performance optimization.
  • Apply and advocate for modern Android practices including clean architecture, domain modeling, and maintainable code organization.
  • Own crash monitoring, performance tracking, logging, issue remediation, and other operational excellence activities.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and hands-on collaboration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience building and shipping native Android applications.
  • Expertise in Kotlin and modern Android development.
  • Experience building user interfaces with Jetpack Compose and Material3.
  • Strong experience with networking and data layers using OkHttp and Moshi.
  • Strong experience with domain modeling, system design, and scalable mobile architecture.
  • Comfort working with distributed systems and collaborating with backend teams.
  • Experience with Android architecture patterns such as MVI, MVVM, modularization, and dependency injection.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, object-oriented design, algorithms, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and influence technical direction across teams.
  • Experience with ARCore, OpenCV, Filament, or performance optimization for high-volume consumer-facing mobile applications is preferred.
  • Must not be listed on the Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
