Responsibilities
- Maintain, modernize, and extend the online tax return and tax calculation systems.
- Implement income tax calculations by processing user inputs and calculating expected refunds and payments.
- Translate calculated data into the format required by the financial administration interface.
- Migrate and optimize legacy Groovy code into modern Kotlin with support from AI-assisted coding tools.
- Work with tax experts in an agile, self-organized team.
- Manage larger codebases and independently develop useful supporting tools.
- Provide second-level support when required.
Requirements
- Experience developing with Kotlin.
- Knowledge of Java or Groovy is advantageous.
- Experience using IntelliJ IDEA, Git, and Gradle.
- Interest in using GitHub Copilot or comparable agentic coding tools productively.
- Ability to structure and modernize complex legacy code.
- Interest in working intensively with tax-related subject matter; tax expertise is not required.
- Very good German language skills at least at C1 level.
