Responsibilities

  • Build and operate scalable platform capabilities supporting Portfolio Management, Compliance, Finance, Data Governance, Operational Risk, and Human Resources teams.
  • Standardize CI/CD with GitHub Actions by creating reusable workflows and composite actions, defining runner strategies, and enforcing environment protections, approvals, and quality gates.
  • Automate builds, testing, security checks, and progressive delivery using blue/green and canary deployment patterns.
  • Develop automated infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, source code management, and operational collaboration practices.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Implement GitOps deployment and environment-promotion workflows with configuration, secrets, and change-management guardrails.
  • Partner with engineering and leadership on FinOps, including cost allocation, tagging, budgeting, showback/chargeback, rightsizing, scheduling, and cloud-spend optimization.
  • Partner with security teams on detection and response, platform hardening, access controls, audit-ready logging, and monitoring.
  • Define and operationalize SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, on-call readiness, runbooks, automated remediation, and service-health dashboards.
  • Work with development teams to understand system challenges, propose technical solutions, and assist with implementation.
  • Document user guides, defects, feature requests, and architecture designs.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of proven experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering.
  • Strong experience deploying, managing, and monitoring services in AWS and Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, and feature-branching strategies.
  • Experience designing and operating CI/CD platforms, especially GitHub Actions, with familiarity integrating or migrating from Jenkins.
  • Understanding of networking, DNS, routing, and messaging between services.
  • Experience with microservices and production observability across metrics, logs, and traces.
  • Working knowledge of cloud security and SecOps, including IAM, key management, logging, monitoring, vulnerability remediation, and incident response.
  • Experience applying FinOps concepts in AWS and Azure, including cost visibility, tagging, budgeting, forecasting, rightsizing, reserved capacity, and savings plans.
  • Knowledge of software development processes and technologies including Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, Shell, Infrastructure as Code, and Configuration as Code.
  • Experience with Jira, pip, npm, Gradle, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with container platforms including Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS, Amazon ECR, Azure AKS, and Azure ACR.
  • Experience with Argo CD or Flux and Helm or Kustomize-based configuration management.
  • Knowledge of AWS IAM, KMS, SSM Parameter Store, Secrets Manager, Azure Entra ID, Key Vault, and App Configuration.
  • Experience with AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Knowledge of policy-as-code, OPA/Gatekeeper, Terraform policy frameworks, secrets management, workflow-as-code, reusable actions, runner strategies, environment protections, OIDC cloud authentication, artifacts, and caching.
  • Strong verbal communication, documentation, problem-solving, teamwork, and ability to work with development communities and business leaders.
  • Preferred qualifications include AWS or Azure certifications, application development experience with Python, Groovy, or JavaScript, SRE experience for web applications and data analytics or ETL processes, application security knowledge including SAST, DAST, SCA, and xSPM, cloud security posture management and threat detection experience, FinOps certification or equivalent experience, measurable cloud-cost optimization results, and financial-industry experience.
