Responsibilities
- Design and implement low-level hardware interfacing software for multispectral imaging sensors.
- Develop asymmetric multiprocessing and multithreaded software for various hardware platforms.
- Design and implement real-time multiprocessor communication methodologies.
- Implement serial and packetized protocols over Ethernet, MS1553, ARINC, CAN, and serial connections.
- Use version control software such as Git or similar tools.
- Collaborate with FPGA, electrical, and mechanical engineers throughout software design, development, and testing.
- Build collaborative relationships and participate in cross-discipline coalitions to share knowledge across teams and projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or an applicable technical field.
- 10+ years of embedded real-time development experience for multithreaded software.
- Complete command of C/C++ and fluency in object-oriented design methods.
- Experience with Linux kernel drivers and interfacing to custom hardware.
- Familiarity with software development, configuration management, and defect tracking tools.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
- Preferred experience includes real-time video streaming, hardware-accelerated compression, transport, MISB metadata management, FreeRTOS or other real-time operating systems, SQL or other databases, Qt and QML, Xilinx or Qualcomm Snapdragon architectures, networking protocols, Java software development, and technical team leadership.
