Responsibilities
- Build and maintain API, integration, end-to-end, regression, contract, load, and performance test automation.
- Develop Playwright-based end-to-end suites for critical user journeys and integrate them with GitHub Actions release gates.
- Own test-suite health, including flake reduction, runtime, reliability, and coverage growth.
- Build AI-assisted tooling that converts acceptance criteria and user stories into test plans and automated scripts.
- Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted test-generation tools into engineering workflows.
- Create regression registers, coverage reporting, and shared dashboards mapping critical paths to automated coverage.
- Build load and performance testing frameworks and help engineers define and validate release thresholds.
- Partner with product managers and engineers on acceptance criteria, golden-path journeys, test strategy, and quality standards.
Requirements
- Production experience building and maintaining end-to-end test automation suites using Playwright or an equivalent framework.
- Experience integrating test suites with GitHub Actions or an equivalent CI system and configuring release gates.
- Programming proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or a similar language.
- Hands-on experience with API or contract testing tools such as Pact or Postman.
- Experience with load or performance testing tools such as k6 or Locust.
- Ability to write structured, reusable, and maintainable test automation as production software.
- Experience using AI coding tools while applying independent technical judgment.
- Comfort operating primarily from the terminal and scripting tooling rather than relying on GUI test recorders.
- Strong ownership, communication, collaboration, reliability, and learning-agility skills.
- Preferred experience building a test automation function from scratch, partnering with product managers on acceptance criteria, and using coverage data to prioritize testing.
- Preferred exposure to AI-assisted test-generation tooling, e-commerce, logistics, supply-chain domains, Shopify, WMS-TMS, billing systems, or security/dependency scanning tools in CI.
