Base Salary
$200k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable distributed systems for the Snowflake services layer.
- Solve fault-tolerance, high-availability, performance, and scale challenges in production systems.
- Analyze trade-offs among consistency, durability, and cost when designing services.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with engineers, product managers, and Technical Program Managers.
- Ensure operational readiness and meet customer commitments for service availability and performance.
- Build and support cloud provisioning abstractions across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
Requirements
- 7+ years of industry experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale production systems.
- 2+ years of experience leading groups of junior and senior engineers.
- Experience building large-scale distributed, fault-tolerant services and control planes involving compute, storage, networking configuration, and monitoring.
- Strong understanding of operating-system concepts including multithreading, memory management, networking, storage, performance, and scale.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Systems programming experience with multithreading and concurrency; fluency in C++ or Java preferred.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud infrastructure.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science required; master’s or PhD preferred.
- Track record of identifying and implementing creative solutions.
