Base Salary
$167k - $208k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a full-stack autonomy system flown in surrogate aircraft.
- Integrate software modules into helicopter platforms, bench setups, simulation environments, and flight-test systems.
- Develop software for end-to-end testing of embedded sensors from simulation through flight testing.
- Create software architectures that enable rapid autonomy-system test and evaluation.
- Automate software deployment, data extraction, and data validation.
- Work with systems engineers to understand requirements for conflict detection, navigation, and flight-path management systems and subsystems.
- Develop flight-test plans covering test execution, sensor and ground-truth data collection, and expected results.
- Capture, monitor, and analyze network traffic and support R&D flight-test operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, STEM, or equivalent real-world experience.
- 8+ years of industry experience with software development.
- Demonstrable Python proficiency for robotics, low-level device I/O, or network-based services.
- Experience with project management, bug tracking, and continuous integration tools such as JIRA.
- Experience with network traffic tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and iPerf.
- Experience with Linux, including configuration management and shell scripting.
- Experience with Docker or containerization in general.
- Experience with real-time operating systems and low-level C/C++ software is desired.
- Experience with C/C++ and the GNU Toolchain, including gcc and gdb, is desired.
- Familiarity with hardware- and software-in-the-loop flight simulators, flight-test operations, embedded systems communication protocols, aviation sensors, Agile software development, unit testing, and test-driven development is desired.
- Familiarity with ADS-B, GPS, INS, ACAS, CAN, ARINC, I2C, and SPI is desired.
- Experience with Google Cloud products and BigQuery is a plus.
