Base Salary
$220k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Experiment with AI tools, development techniques, and agentic workflows to accelerate delivery and improve client outcomes.
- Generate, refactor, and extend enterprise-grade codebases using LLMs as first-class development tools.
- Modernize legacy systems using AI-driven development workflows.
- Design and guide agentic workflows that produce code aligned with business and architectural constraints.
- Validate, test, and harden AI-generated code to meet production, security, and audit standards.
- Partner with clients, product managers, and architects to turn ambiguous requirements into working systems.
- Help Lab49 and its clients adopt LLM-native software engineering practices at scale.
- Lead teams through AI adoption and help enterprises develop scalable AI software-factory frameworks.
Requirements
- Strong engineering fundamentals and real-world experience solving difficult production problems in enterprise systems.
- Hands-on experience producing production-grade software through prompts, agents, or sustained AI-assisted development workflows at scale.
- Experience working in mature CI/CD environments with automated testing integrated into delivery pipelines.
- Comfort working in regulated, risk-aware environments where correctness, explainability, and traceability matter.
- Ability to reason about system behavior, edge cases, and failure modes in AI-generated code.
- Fluency in at least one major enterprise language or ecosystem, such as Java, C#, Python, or JVM-based stacks.
- Experience designing or using agentic development workflows is preferred.
- Exposure to modernization programs such as monolith-to-services transitions, legacy refactoring, or platform rewrites is preferred.
- Strong interest in the evolution of software engineering in an LLM-first world and ability to defend relevant viewpoints.
