- Design, implement, and maintain the on-vehicle control plane for retrieving cloud configuration and applying it across vehicle ECUs.
- Design, implement, and maintain the on-vehicle data plane for collecting, processing, and forwarding vehicle-system data to cloud storage.
- Optimize control- and data-plane software for intermittent connectivity, rapid configuration convergence, reliable data egress, and minimal CPU and memory usage.
- Work with Azure, Amazon S3, and Firestore for configuration delivery, device-state reporting, and data egress.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud teams to safely roll out vehicle software and configuration.
- Instrument software with observability capabilities to monitor the fleet, diagnose production issues, and resolve them at the source.
- Contribute to open-source projects through issue reporting, documentation, and code patches.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Graduated or scheduled to graduate between January 2026 and May 2027.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Preferred experience includes C, C++, Linux, Android, QNX, distributed systems, configuration management, data pipelines, vehicle communication protocols, AUTOSAR, network and security protocols, cloud platforms, IoT device-management services, OpenTelemetry, Firestore, CI/CD automation, fleet management, OTA, remote configuration, or relevant open-source projects.
- Preferred experience includes participation in a collegiate engineering design team such as Formula SAE, SAE AutoDrive Challenge, EcoCAR, Baja SAE, or a similar program.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, troubleshooting, and willingness-to-learn skills are preferred.
- Applicants must not require current or future sponsorship to work in Canada.
