Base Salary
$184k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead project teams, provide direction, define milestones, and keep stakeholders informed
- Work with the team to define priorities, suggest effective solutions, and excel at implementation
- Build and maintain software for Neon’s healthcare automation platform
- Work across many areas of a large codebase and lead projects from start to finish
- Help embed high standards for speed and quality across the engineering team
- Document, test, and version-control engineering work
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience, or equivalent, as a software engineer
- Proficiency with Node, TypeScript, and Python
- Understanding of system design, including distributed systems and reliability/performance tradeoffs
- Experience designing, implementing, and documenting APIs
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude
- Strong documentation and testing habits
- Proficiency with Git
- Experience working on projects that touched many parts of a large codebase
- Ability to lead engineering projects from start to finish, define requirements, self-direct, and set priorities
- Experience across multiple areas of software engineering; experience with Kubernetes clusters and microservices is an example of relevant breadth
- Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available
