Responsibilities
- Define the multi-year technical vision, roadmaps, and projects for Algolia’s frontend platform.
- Shape the Algolia Dashboard’s experience architecture, component strategy, and technical foundations for conversational and agentic user experiences.
- Drive convergence on a shared component library and reduce duplicated or inconsistent product patterns.
- Design and deliver highly available, performant, resilient solutions that scale across products and customer environments.
- Own solutions from delivery through adoption by engineering teams and customers.
- Define API design, versioning, and backward-compatibility strategies for public libraries.
- Provide technical expertise, mentorship, engineering leadership, and standards for other engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience with a record of setting technical direction across multiple teams.
- Experience serving as a thought leader or standard-bearer through talks, open source, or writing.
- Proven experience leading engineers on large, cross-cutting projects.
- Extensive experience designing full-stack solutions and making end-to-end trade-offs involving APIs, backend services, and delivery infrastructure.
- Deep frontend expertise in TypeScript, modern web platforms, React, accessibility, bundle size, and runtime performance.
- Experience designing and maintaining public libraries, SDKs, or design systems, including API ergonomics and breaking-change management.
- Experience building complex, high-traffic, multi-product web applications such as dashboards or admin consoles.
- Experience leading cross-team UI consolidation efforts.
- Interest in conversational and agentic interfaces, including chat, streaming responses, and tool-driven workflows.
- Familiarity with search UX patterns and generative AI or agentic experiences is a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
