Responsibilities
- Design and implement performance, scale, reliability, live migration, and upgrade improvements for the AHV hypervisor stack.
- Perform low-level coding, debugging, and systems development across hardware architectures, preferably x86.
- Research solutions and support design decisions with data and technical analysis.
- Participate in design discussions and communicate technical ideas to geographically distributed teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their technical development.
- Support occasional customer escalations involving rare or severe outages.
- Contribute product improvements to open-source community projects.
Requirements
- Strong operating-system and systems fundamentals.
- Experience writing and maintaining enterprise-quality code.
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience building and shipping enterprise-grade software.
- Knowledge of x86 virtualization and the KVM stack is preferred.
- Contributions to the Linux kernel or virtualization stack are preferred.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to work effectively across geographies.
