Base Salary

$136k - $204k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop software services extending Equinix networking services through a network-adjacent virtualized compute platform.
  • Design and manage highly concurrent, scalable, distributed transactional networking systems.
  • Align technical software designs with business outcomes and customer service-level agreements.
  • Lead or contribute to CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and integration testing for rapid, confident deployments.
  • Develop observability strategies and improve system performance and scale through profiling and stress testing.
  • Identify technical debt and drive continuous improvements in software quality.
  • Contribute to next-generation networking proof-of-concept projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with support and operations teams to operationalize and support production software.
  • Lead and mentor developers while collaborating with business and engineering functions.
  • Improve incident-management and troubleshooting processes, resolve production issues, and participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of software development experience, preferably building and operating highly reliable distributed systems.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a relevant engineering field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience building software-defined, multi-tenant networking platforms at scale using cloud-native networking technologies.
  • Deep understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols and concepts, including BGP, EVPN, and IPSEC.
  • Experience with network management protocols including gRPC and Netconf.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes or open-source alternatives.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure services and technologies.
  • Expertise automating application deployments into Kubernetes on x86 deployments.
  • Experience with open-source and networking technologies, ecosystems, communities, and industry forums such as the Linux Foundation.
  • Good understanding of the application development stack.
  • Substantive experience with the Golang programming language.
  • Track record of leading and mentoring developers to deliver high-quality software on time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across engineering and executive audiences.
