Base Salary
$135k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement Python software for automated testing of flight-critical avionics hardware.
- Manage avionics test-system software through development, qualification, and production acceptance testing.
- Integrate test equipment with avionics hardware and collaborate with test and avionics engineers to resolve automation challenges.
- Define test requirements, recommend test equipment solutions, and troubleshoot anomalies through root cause analysis.
- Extend the Python test automation framework, conduct code reviews, and document tools for engineer and technician handover.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or another engineering or physical science discipline.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming with Python.
- Experience writing software that interfaces with instrumentation hardware and using DAQ systems such as National Instruments or similar modular solutions.
- Familiarity with software version control such as GitHub, software unit testing, and CI/CD.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Proficiency using AI coding assistants and workflows to accelerate development, debugging, and code quality.
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with NASA SMC-S-016, AWS and cloud development tools, electronic instrumentation, SCPI, pyVISA, Linux, kernel software, device drivers, embedded systems, C++, TCP/UDP, DHCP, Ethernet, and React or Angular.
