Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of modular, maintainable, and high-performance Android Automotive infotainment applications.
- Architect and integrate media, navigation, user profile, and distributed playback features.
- Develop modules communicating with VHAL and other HALs through AIDL and HIDL.
- Integrate applications with Android system services and vendor-specific frameworks.
- Debug and optimize issues across application, framework, and HAL layers.
- Collaborate with platform, hardware, and QA teams on integration and validation.
- Mentor junior developers and enforce architecture, code quality, and testing best practices.
- Create and present architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation details to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience is required; the detailed role description specifies 4 years of Android application development and at least 4 years in infotainment and telematics.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field; the posting also mentions a master's degree in engineering as an option.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++14/17.
- Deep knowledge of Android SDK, Android NDK, Jetpack libraries, MVVM architecture, Android components, AAOS car services, and infotainment integration.
- Hands-on experience with AIDL, HIDL, VHAL, HAL-to-application communication, partitioning, and cross-partition communication.
- Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, CAN, media, phone, navigation, and cloud communication at the application level.
- Experience with unit testing, instrumentation testing, mocking frameworks, Git, debugging tools, and CI/CD workflows.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety, ASPICE, ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity, TARA, and secure communication practices.
- Automotive or embedded-systems experience is preferred.
