Base Salary
$140k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build new backend features and enhance existing features for Wealthfront’s core products.
- Improve the maintainability and stability of backend systems by fixing issues and adding enhancements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to triage and resolve operational issues in production.
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability and scalability.
- Use automated instrumentation, monitoring, testing, and development processes to minimize operational maintenance.
- Participate in recruiting activities such as interviewing and career fairs, and provide mentorship to other engineers.
Requirements
- 2–6 years of experience developing backend components, services, or APIs in Java or a similar language.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and functional programming paradigms.
- Knowledge of SQL and experience with online data stores such as MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server; NoSQL experience is also acceptable.
- Interest in test-driven development, continuous integration, automated testing, and backend platforms with measurable business impact.
- BS or MS in computer science or a related field.
- Experience with Spark pipelines, Hibernate or another ORM, and dependency injection frameworks such as Guice, Spring, Pico, or Dagger is preferred but not required.
